| | Wednesday night Dana and I went to the Razorback game against Tennessee with high hopes - would this be the game the Hogs pulled out of their slump and win an SEC game at home??? Hope, it wasn't to be, although it was a nail-biter to the last seconds - the Vols got their last shot to go in, and Arkansas missed two under the rim as time expired. Oh, so close.
But the trip wasn't a total loss. On my way out the door I grabbed my camera - I'd been meaning to try to get a good panoramic shot inside. I took several sets from a few different vantage points, and got a pretty good result, and settled in to watch the game. Just before halftime was over, though, the big screen on the scoreboard showed something interesting and new - a young man in uniform was proposing to a member of the Hog Wild Band!! She apparently said yes, as there was lots of hugging and kissing and cheering from the band and the student section. Then the couple went up the stairs where the young lady discovered her family was present, then they all went up to the lobby area.
Well, I sat there for a few minutes thinking, they'd probably be happy to get a good picture of this, then got up and trotted over to that side of the building. They were all still there, having a happy chat. The young man in uniform is a senior member of the AFROTC program, and I introduced myself as a retired AF pilot and now photographer and would they like a picture? They were pretty pleased with the idea, so I grabbed some quick shots to capture their very happy faces. As soon as I hear from him I will send them the pix - what fun! Best of luck to these guys!
